The good old battlefront days
12/07/09 05:53 PM
I miss the days of old in which you annoyed somebody so much in a video game that they warned the entire world about you.

I remember getting perma-banned from subspace for typing weezer lyics in global chat.
Apparently "god damn you half-japanese girl" is considered racist.
p.s. why did you give up the proper 1337 h4X0r method of spelling spazdaq?

whats interesting to me is that i was apparently the only team killer that did that, and they wanted to make sure people didnt mistake me with the all lower-case spazdaq who is typically more docile than i.

"The Gold Ol' Battlefront Days" sounds like a spazdaquian take on a Johnny Cash song.

i remember you could really rack up your casualty stats by parking an at at at the ewok spawn point.

the utlimate team killing spot was the hangar, i would dominate my team there until they realized i was getting health and ammo from the droids and destroy them, then id get killed every now and then. also i loved jumping into and aircraft getting someone to be the wingman and then fly straight into a mountain and jump out letting him crash byhimself. oh what a great game that was. cod does not compare

yeah. did you watch that video of battle front 3 that i posted? they abandoned the game but it looks like it would have been awesome.
i always laughed when the game would start and id run out and turn around and watch planes go flying out and a little guy would jump out right before they went into the mountain. then he'd run back in the hanger and another plane would go flying into the mountain...after a few minutes id hear "hanger secure!" on the headset.

I've never played online shooters from a console. Like, getting the newest, most popular shooter for 360 or whatever and playing it live. It seems like something I'd enjoy.

i just wrote a long post about how awesome battlefront was but my bird hit the wireless off button on my keyboard right as i was trying to post it. but yeah the point was, battlefront kicked ass in ways that no shooters currently do. still online fps is a pretty fun way to kill time.

yea. that was tough to do too cause everyone ran for the planes the second the match started, so i had to kill them all, fly a plane out, kill them all again and so forth, so it helped when i was able to get them to jump in as the co-pilot

Yeah. But I feel like I'm way behind in the skill curve. I know all FPS are different, but there are some general skills that translate, such as straffing, movement, leading a shot, etc. Stuff that I feel I would be sorely lacking on!
All those 14 year olds would kick my ass and then I would cry. :(
