Red Berry's Baseball World...
01/25/12 10:05 AM

is closing. Another piece of my childhood wiped from the earth. I'll never forget you, baseball camp. Even that time the coaches put me up against that pitcher that was 5 years older. Yeah, sure, he hit me in the knee so hard it left lace shaped bruises and I walked funny for a week, but it built CHARACTER. And that's what life experience is about, beating the shit out of kids for your amusement to prepare them for the real world. I wouldn't trade that pain for anything.

I remember that I always chose to be the catcher at red berry.

no one else wanted to be it so at the end of the season i had all the superlatives for that position.  i could have built a tent out of all my red berry patches.

i just reread what i wrote...could baseball be any gayer?
