Have The Simpsons Jumped The Shark?

http://esulincoln.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/425_the_simpsons_070607.jpg Todd Leopold of CNN celebrates the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons by asking whether or not it should be canceled.

Matt Groening told CNN that he'd "be surprised if we close up anytime soon. ... The show's still fun to do."

Some high profile (not sure why i called people i've never heard of as high profile, but i did anyways) fans seem to think the show has run its course and that nothing good can come from keeping it going.

I personally enjoy the show but I only watch it on reruns. It totally blows my mind that the show has been on for 20 years but I always seem to catch the same 10 episodes.

For me personally the Simpsons should not have passed 10 seasons. It still remains my favourite show of all time though - I just don't spoil my memories of it by still watching it today.

that seems to be the sentiment of that article.

Somebody should create a The Simpsons Genome project, outlining everyone who has been involved with the Simpsons and linking it to their prior and post-simpsons work.

yea, i keep watching them for no apparent reason. But they are just so boring, the episodes are about absolutely nothing. They are trying to involve the whole family in the episodes, when they show only really worked then they were about homer.
