Only Known Recording of 1960's World Series Game 7 Found in Bing Crosby's Wine Cellar.
There seem to be lots of things missing or that just plain don't work.
That's not a question. Its a statement. It's an honest mistake to be sure, but maybe its a sign that you should start spending more time thinking about how you might improve yourself and a little less time nitpicking every little detail of any given website.
The short version: Bing Crosby, partial owner of the 1960's era Pittsburgh Pirates, gets so nervous about Game 7 of the Pirate's World Series against the Yankees that he decides to fly to Paris with his wife in order to avoid jinxing everybody. Before he leaves, he hires a company to record the game via kinesecope (i.e. one of these: ) while he listens in France on short wave radio.
It turns out, the Pirate's 2nd baseman Bill Mazeroski hits a game-ending home run to beat the Yankees 10-9; a game that will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time.
No recordings of the momentous game had ever been seen until now.
