Hot Tub Time Machine is an extremely inventive movie that will have you pondering the space time continuum for years to come. Okay, not even remotely. These guys just wanted to make an 80s movie in 2010 and needed a silly pointless concept to do it. The result is an apitowesque movie that puts the comedy of today in an 80s setting.

The movie is without a doubt entertaining. Minimal 80s references are thrown in for good measure but its not trying to be a spoof. My favorite tidbit was the line "GET HIM A BODY BAG!" during a short fight scene. If you recognized that as a Karate Kid reference, then you might even notice an fun cameo by Billy Zabka that makes you wish he did more with his career. While I wasn't as excited about Crispin Glover's part in the film as some critics were, he was entertaining as well

The primary reason to watch the movie, however, is Rob Corddry. I was pretty impressed at how well he was able to take what is most probably the lead role if there is one and drive it through to the end.

Everyone else is good if not memorable.

Ive heard this movie has been compared to The Hangover which is absolutely incorrect. The hangover managed to be twice as intelligent with twice as much toilet humor. Still, Hot Tub Time Machine is consistently funny even into the credits. While there is no reason to pay for it on the big screen, its definitely a must see before it gets edited for network television.
